Canadian Winds

The Journal of the Canadian Band Association

Canadian Winds is the professional journal of the Canadian Band Association. The journal seeks to be both a scholarly and pedagogical publication accessible to all instrumental music educators. The first issue of the journal was released in the fall of 2002. Canadian Winds is published bi-annually, in the fall and spring.

 

The Canadian Band Association, founded in 1931, is a national organization of approximately 1,500 members representing school, university, community, and military band directors, students, parents, administrators, music industry, composers, arrangers and others interested in bands and band music in Canada

 

The Canadian Band Association includes nine Provincial Associations: British Columbia Band Association, Alberta Band Association, Saskatchewan Band Association, Manitoba Band Association, CBA (Ontario), Ontario Band Association, Quebec Band Association, New Brunswick Band Association, and the Nova Scotia Band Association (which includes Prince Edward Island).

 

Circulation

Over 1500 copies are mailed directly to the band community through Canada Post

 

Subscriptions

University and college library subscriptions are available for $210.00 CDN per annum.
